In an interview with Linerun’s PodcastBus in New York City, Co-Founder and President of Mouthmedia Network, Pavan Bahl, shared his list of companies that are leading the way in producing content.

As a noted leader and community  builder in multiple ecosystems, including fashion, technology and content, Pavan has become an authority in identifying such leaders.  With his partners Rob Sanchez and Marc Raco, their network of B2B lifestyle podcasts, Mouthmedia, has become a force in the business world, balancing excellent story telling with brand awareness.

From his perspective, Pavan says there are two brands that are “top of mind” when it comes to memorable and relatable content:  Bobbi Brown and Shopify.

Bobbi Brown

Beauty guru Bobbi Brown, the ex-CEO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, is a force that established herself as one of the pre-eminent leaders in the beauty business.  From her multiple books on makeup and beauty to the sprawling cosmetics business she launched (and left) to her new ventures in hospitality, consumables and wellness, she’s taken her brand across the spectrum into new markets.

According to Pavan, what makes her stand out is how she’s been able to connect and cross-promote her related, but disparate brands.  From her new boutique hotel in Montclair, NJ, The George, to the beauty product and consumables line, Evolution_18 and her health and wellness content platform, JustBobbi, her unique strategy of applying branded elements to lift the entire portfolio is impressive.  By placing the same multi-brand experiences seen most often in pop-up retail stores, they create a cohesive and  immersive experience for their customers online and in the case of The George, in person.

Shopify

Shopify offers two different podcasts as part of their overall content strategy.  The Shopify Masters Podcast, produced and hosted by Felix Thea of Traffic and Sales, helps Shopify unite their network of independent business owners and stores to provide a clear cut way of communication with arguably some of their most important stakeholders.  In addition to this direct line, the podcast serves as a “revolving master class” showcasing the best practices of successful e-commerce sellers for others to learn from.  By sharing how they’ve done certain things effectively, these highly influential individuals also help to reinforce the strength of the Shopify brand.

While Shopify Masters largely focuses on engaging individuals already on Shopify, The Essential Podcast for Ambitious Entrepreneurs helps attract other people to the platform.  By focusing on the success stories of leading entrepreneurs and thought leaders in business and technology, Shopify builds its brand equity among its community.
